To perform an event like ours requires a lot of help, passion for games and willingness to have some fun. But it isn’t all about games and having fun, because every single thing needs some attention. Volunteers do matter and they aren’t free help, they are part of our community.
If you’re interested in joining our team, here’s what you’ll get and can expect:
What’s in it for me?
Four days badge
Regular breaks and free meals
Indie Dome t-shirt and pin
What’s expected of me?
As an Indie Dome Volunteer your duty and responsibilities may be varied within shifts of 6 hours per day. You might be helping attendees, demoing games, helping production staff and guests. It is a fun place to work but we also expect some things from our volunteers:
Know your way around, keep it friendly and be respectful to all patrons. You are our public face and this means plenty of patience and no swearing. If you don’t have the answer to someone’s question, which is fine, ask or call a staff member.
If you’re on duty, you may not possess or consume alcohol and/or illicit substances.
Wear your Indie Dome shirt or pin and badge while on duty and remove when your shift is over. This is how staff and guests will identify you.
We reserve the right to revoke your privileges if we observe any of the following:
Being verbally or physically abusive towards attendees, guests, other volunteers or staff members.
Consuming alcohol and/or illicit substances.
Not reporting a shift
