A primary goal of the Indie Dome is to be inclusive to the largest number of participants, with the most varied and diverse backgrounds possible. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, ability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and religion (or lack thereof).
This code of conduct outlines our expectations for all those who participate in our community.
We invite all partners, volunteers, speakers, attendees, media, and other participants to help us realize a safe and positive event experience for everyone.
All determinations of appropriate or inappropriate behavior are in Indie Dome’s sole discretion and the decision(s) of the Indie Dome representative’s onsite will be final.
2. Expected Behavior
Participate in an authentic and active way. In doing so, you contribute to the health and longevity of this community.
Exercise consideration and respect in your speech and actions.
Attempt collaboration before conflict.
Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
Stop interacting with the person if they ask you to and do not pursue them.
Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Alert community leaders if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or violations of this Code of Conduct, even if they seem inconsequential.
Most of the community event venues are shared with members of the public; please be respectful to all patrons of these locations.
3. Unacceptable Behavior
Violence, threats of violence or violent language directed against another person.
Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language.
Posting or displaying sexually explicit or violent material.
Personal insults, particularly those related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability.
Inappropriate photography or recording.
Inappropriate physical contact.
Unwelcome sexual attention. This includes, sexualized comments or jokes; inappropriate touching, groping, and unwelcomed sexual advances.
Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior.
Sustained disruption of community events, including talks and presentations.
Delete, change content or change computer’s settings by members of the public.
Smoking – other than in designated outdoor areas.
4. Reporting Guidelines
If you are subject to unacceptable behavior, notice that someone else is being subject to unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify an organizer as soon as possible. All reports will remain confidential.
If we have any criticism or concerns regarding any of the staff, exhibitors, or anyone kind enough to donate their time to take part in Indie Dome, we will politely and privately bring it up with them to discuss it.
Please note that hired, professional security is onsite at all times and is available should they be needed.
We expect all participants (partners, volunteers, speakers, attendees, and other guests) to abide by this code of conduct at all Indie Dome events.

The above policies may be revised at any time by Indie Dome and are non-negotiable. This Code of Conduct is without prejudice to Indie Dome’s rights, all of which it expressly reserves.
