Indie Dome supports producers of independent videogames, placing artistic, innovative and culturally relevant projects in one space. As organization, we promote and publicize emerging projects and the most praiseworthy through showcases with the help of our partners and for the general public in order to foster greater awareness and visibility of the Portuguese and the international independent movement. Indie Dome had its first edition inside and in articulation with Lisboa Games Week, one of the fastest growing videogames events of Europe. Following the steps of the biggest world fairs, both Lisboa Games Week and Indie Dome felt the need to showcase the best indie games for the expected 60k visitors at the venue.
During the 4 days of 2016’s Lisboa Games Week, Indie Dome had more than 30 games. On the first edition we had the marvelous presence of Square Enix Collective and Wargaming Labs, with their teams showcasing some soon-to-be released games to LGW’s visitors. On their side were also games submitted to us by 505 Games, Kasedo Games and Sometimes You, among many.
In 2017, as Lisboa Games Week grew twice the size, Indie Dome took a higher step showcasing 50 games from all corners of the World in a much larger area. With a fantastic selection of Games and the presence of veterans like Klaus Lyngeled from Zoink and Brjánn Sigurgeirsson from Image & Form; Tyron Janse van Vuuren from Output Games; Tracey and Dave McCabe from Spooky Doorway; Indie Dome has made one of the best events in the world for indie game developers.
